STORYHOUSE LAB

In parallel with the main event, STORYHOUSE encourages new and developing screenwriters to apply to take part in STORYHOUSE LAB, a unique intensive script development programme for diverse emerging screenwriters. The LAB provides a small cohort of emerging writers with complimentary access to all STORYHOUSE events as well as additional focussed sessions with our talented guests under the mentorship of BAFTA and IFTA winning TV and film screenwriter MALCOLM CAMPBELL (What Richard Did, Bad Sisters). The participants in this group will be carefully selected to promote new, diverse, inclusive and gender balanced voices.
STORYHOUSE LAB, a groundbreaking development initiative, is supported by Screen Ireland, Fremantle, Element Pictures, Coimisiún na Meán, and Cultural & Creative Industries Skillnet.

TESTIMONIALS & GALLERY
I was overjoyed to be a participant in this year’s Storyhouse LAB, and could not praise the team behind it more highly. It gave me not only the opportunity to speak with and attend talks by the most exciting working screenwriters in the world, but the chance to connect with other wonderful Irish writers in a nurturing and
supportive environment. I’d do it again a million times if I could!
Hiram Harrington
"
Such a special experience to be part of the Storyhouse 2024 LAB. It was all top-tier—the projects being pitched, the diversity of participants, and the complete access to festival events. When it was over I was left feeling excited and inspired to sharpen my storytelling craft and further develop my film project.
Rose Ugoalah
"
As a screenwriter who didn’t attend film school or the like, Storyhouse felt like
an education in itself. The speakers, the labs and my fellow participants provided
insights and community that have positively impacted my career ever since. As a participant, it provided me with a grounded confidence to trust myself and go
deeper in my craft.
Tom Moran
"
As a writer and a director, I feel privileged to have taken part in the first
Story House project, everyone of us left the lab buzzing and inspired. The setting
was intimate, the curation was exceptional- speakers were diverse in genre and style but consistent in their generosity and willingness to share their insight and
experience— all in all Storylab 2024 was an invaluable learning experience.
